Overview Of Zotag Uptime

This site is under-repair! Please try back later! In the meantime, try ideaCollab

Zotag Uptime was a service thought up by James Hartig to compete with other "paid" services. He was tired of only being able to monitor one site, get horrible service, or have almost no customization with various free services. We are starting Zotag Uptime off with a private beta to test features and get feedback from users. The support system will be the GetSatisfaction page and will be consistantly monitored by an admin. Invite codes will be sent out within the next few weeks, so look for yours or start making some more friends!

Services

Here is the current selection

Ping Service

Pings your Site. You can specify port, number of times and various other details.

Site/Page Service

Checks your site for text. If your site is down, then the resulting text on the page will be emailed so that you can see the error that occured.

DNS Service

Checks DNS servers for your site's record. You can specify your own custom DNS servers or you can use the defaults, which include OpenDNS.

State-of-the-Art Backup System

World-class Server Failure Solution

We know that you may have peoblems, but we don't want to have any. James Hartig has developed a server backup system that is going to be second to none. It makes sure that we keep monitoring your site and in the rare occasion that your site goes down, that you are the first to know!

Please note: During the beta, we cannot guarantee any perfect uptimes by our servers as we are still working on many details and setting up more and more remote servers.

About the Zotag name

With a name like Zotag, you know its awesome!

Zotag was thought up by a teenager based in Indiana. His name is Travis Cunningham. At that time he was hosting with ZendUrl (no longer in business) and thats where he met James Hartig. James Hartig was pretty new to the whole Internet thing, but had a lot of ideas. Next, Colum Mcgaley was found on ZendUrl too and was added to the team! Now, they both have gotten a lot more successful and manage and maintain 15+ websites online. The servers are located in Travis's home, James's Work and Colum's home, however the main mysql server is hosted by BlueHost.
